New Tyres, Balancing & Wheel Alignment

Grip, stopping power and even wear, sorted

Your tyres are four palm-sized patches holding your car to the road, so small problems add up fast. We supply and fit quality tyres from leading brands, including run-flats and performance tyres for European models, and balance every wheel we fit. Pair it with a four-wheel alignment and your car tracks straight, your steering feels right and your new tyres last as long as they should.

How We Work

Measured, Adjusted and Road Tested

Good tyre work comes down to accuracy, so we measure before we change anything.

Computerised Wheel Alignment

Our alignment equipment reads each wheel’s angles against your manufacturer’s figures and shows us exactly what’s out. We adjust until every reading sits within spec, then print a before-and-after report for you to keep.

If we see wear caused by a tired suspension part, we’ll point it out rather than fit new tyres that will wear the same way.

Tread, Age & Wear Pattern Check

We check tread depth, sidewalls and the date stamp on every tyre, and read the wear pattern for clues about pressure or alignment problems. Then we ask how and where you drive before suggesting a tyre.

Correct Size, Load & Speed Rating

Every tyre we fit matches the placard on your car, so you stay safe, legal and insured.

Torqued to Spec

Wheel nuts are tightened to the manufacturer's setting with a calibrated torque wrench, never just a rattle gun.

Straight-Line Road Test

We drive every car after an alignment to confirm the steering wheel sits centred and the car tracks true.

Wheels & Tyres - FAQs

What Hoppers Crossing drivers ask about tyres
What's the legal tread depth in Victoria?

The minimum is 1.5 mm, which lines up with the wear bars moulded into the grooves. We’d suggest replacing tyres before then, as wet-weather grip drops noticeably as tread wears.

A steering wheel that sits off-centre, a car that pulls to one side, or tyres wearing on one edge are the usual signs. It’s also worth a check after a hard hit on a kerb or pothole.

Balancing evens out weight around the wheel and tyre so it spins smoothly. An unbalanced wheel sends vibration through the steering at highway speeds and wears suspension parts faster.

Yes. We supply and fit run-flats for BMW, Mini, Mercedes-Benz and other models that use them. If you’d prefer to switch to conventional tyres, we’ll explain what’s involved.

Usually, if the hole is in the main tread and the tyre hasn’t been driven flat. Damage near the sidewall can’t be repaired safely, so we’ll recommend a replacement.

Roughly every 10,000 km suits most cars, unless yours runs different sizes front and rear. Rotating spreads wear evenly, especially on front-wheel-drive cars.

Often, yes, as long as both tyres on the same axle match. Some all-wheel-drive cars need all four replaced together, and we’ll let you know if yours is one of them.

A big one. Under-inflated tyres wear faster, use more fuel and handle poorly, which is why we check pressures at every maintenance visit.
